We are a growing, boutique-style Human Resources firm located in Barrie, Ontario, currently seeking another HR/Payroll Administrator to join our growing HR Dream Team! Providing a full complement of in-sourced human resources and health & safety services to our clients across Canada, we are looking for a dynamic individual who is looking to develop their human resources skills in a team environment that works hard and has fun!

HR/PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR

The HR/Payroll Administrator assists the HR Project team with a variety of tasks and responsibilities including processing payroll for multiple clients. While performing the tasks as an HR Administrator, you will be interacting with various employers, managers, and employees in a variety of industry sectors. As a result, you will be provided with opportunities to build your knowledge and skills set. This is a permanent full-time position. Key Responsibilities:

Client Interaction, Project Management and Team Communication

1. Assists the HR Partner and HR Generalist with providing advisory services for clients on a wide range of employee relations matters and questions related to the ESA, OHSA, AODA, WSIB and the Human Rights Code, and their application as it relates to policy and procedure development and interpretation.

2. Assists with taking a lead role with client projects and research tasks, and documents by advising client on various projects in a wide range of areas including but not limited to employee relations issues, performance management and attendance, leaves of absences and return to work programs, termination, as well as orientation and on-boarding programs, job descriptions, employment agreements, recruitment etc.

Payroll

3. Assists in preparing, verifying, and processing payroll for multiple clients and various pay groups.

4. Utilizes client payroll systems for payroll processing, ensuring accurate employee data entries, compensation adjustments, and leave of absence and time off adjustments.

5. Supports with updating taxable benefit changes and reconciliation.

6. Maintains accurate employee data, including timecards, new hire data, status change, and terminations.

7. Responds to payroll-related inquiries and resolves issues promptly.

8. Assists with payroll discrepancies, including benefit related issues.

9. Assists with preparing and processing year end activities.

10. Performs other administrative tasks as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Post-secondary college diploma or university degree specializing in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Certification as a CHRP or CHRL an asset, however not required.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a previous HR/Payroll Administrator role with a true passion for administering payroll.

• Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet applications, etc. Working knowledge of various payroll systems including but not limited to Payworks, ADP, Dayforce etc.

• Professional phone etiquette and excellent client service skills.

• Excellent verbal communication skills and solid interpersonal skills in order to build a strong rapport with clients and contacts.

• Superior written communication skills with the ability to elevate words and phrases using enhanced language skills and HR vocabulary.

• Superior attention to details skills and the ability to prioritize payroll responsibilities while working on other client projects.

• Ability to apply critical thinking skills to skillfully conceptualize, apply, analyze, synthesize, and/or evaluate information.

• Ability to work for extended periods of time at a computer and to work independently, with minimal supervision.

• Ability to take initiative and be proactive and a definite team player.

• Must demonstrate a high level of integrity and confidentiality.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of pertinent data and information.
