We are looking for proactive, talented and driven individuals to join the MAT 4Site Engineers Mechanical Design team! Our internship offers a crash course in mechanical design and engineering, gained through hands-on experience working with our team, clients, and other business partners.
Over the course of your internship, you will:

During your work term with us, you will:
• Develop your communication skills, mechanical design, project management, and analytical skills with training and hands-on opportunities to apply your learnings.

Who we are:
• MAT 4Site Engineers is a privately owned company located in the heart of the GTA that specializes in the design and engineering of building systems. We have professional engineering licensing across the country.
• The company was established in 2004 to cater to engineering for the retrofit and renewal of existing mechanical systems in commercial and institutional facilities. Beginning with Mechanical services, MAT 4Site Engineers has expanded to provide complete building services including Electrical, Energy Modelling, Communications, IT and all-encompassing Commissioning services. What has evolved most over the years has been the growth and development of our people. We are driven by our mission, and we are driven by a desire to be the best in the industry.
• It is our plan to continue to help our clients create their “best” buildings and to grow organically to satisfy that need.
What you will do:
• Assist with preparing CAD drawings using AutoCAD and BIM using Revit.
• Organizing and maintaining a design and CAD/BIM digital file database for each project.
• Successfully carrying out design/project assignments as directed.
• Assist with performing site investigations and field reviews.
• Assist with and attending site meetings and liaising with clients/contractors.
• Preparing detailed design of conceptual plan provided by the Engineer or Designer.
• In some instances, assist with preparation of the conceptual plan.
• Review and application of knowledge of relevant building codes and standards.
• Assist with and preparing HVAC load calculations, Energy Modelling, and equipment selections.
• Assist with preparing technical reports and specifications.
• Any other tasks that may be assigned from time to time
What you will need:
• You are enrolled in the Mechanical Engineering Program or other related university or college program.
• You are enrolled in a university or college program and are required to complete a co-op work experience.
• You are willing to work in-person at the North York office location 5 days per week. We value in-person collaboration and believe working in-office is the best way to establish meaningful relationships, interact with our team and provide you with the best co-operative work experience.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite, AutoCAD and/or Revit software.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment.
• Ability to set high personal goals and work independently.
• Ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize tasks.
• Ability to make recommendation to effectively resolve problems or issues.
• Having skills reviewing and interpreting short circuit, coordination and arc flash studies is considered an asset.
