Full-Time in ON, CA

A2B Haulage, a part of the Arnott Group, is an aggregate cargo and heavy equipment freight company located in Midhurst/Barrie, Ontario. Our fleet consists of tri-axles, floats, a roll-off and water trucks. We’re looking for a hardworking, safe, and courteous tri-axle driver who values a fairly predictable schedule to become our team member. We maintain our fleet with dedicated precision with the assistance of our sister company repair shop.

DZ TRUCK DRIVER

Key responsibilities

• Operate a dump truck within Simcoe/Grey/Severn/Muskoka County and the GTA

• Drive truck equipped with loose materials, such as sand, gravel, or crushed rock

• Transport materials from and/or within construction sites, pits, and other sites

• Control the speed and direction of the truck

• Pull levers to tilt the body of the truck and dump its contents with accuracy and caution

• Manage routes and routines so they proceed in the most efficient manner including conserving resources

• Complete daily timesheets, tickets, CVOR, and truck log each day worked

• Exhibit highest level of professionalism in all customer and civilian interactions

• Perform pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspection of truck

• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage before and after each shift

• Maintain cleanliness of assigned vehicle (interior and exterior)

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and MTO regulations, as well as company rules, standards and guidelines

Knowledge, skills and abilities

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role

• DZ License required

• A current (within 30 days) Commercial Vehicle Operators Record (CVOR)

• Clean Driver’s abstract and police check

• Experience driving safely in a variety of weather and traffic conditions

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Knowledge of all CVOR requirements such as logbooks, hours of service, load securement, trip inspections, pre-trip inspections, etc.
