Tecoustics - Welder/Fabricator

Tecoustics provides engineering, products, fabrication, and solutions to customers in the construction and industrial sectors, focusing on vibration control, seismic restraint, architectural acoustics, thermal expansion and contraction, heavy industrial fabrication and testing.

POSITION SUMMARY

As a Fabricator with Tecoustics, you will play a crucial role in the production process. You will be responsible for fabricating and assembling components to create finished products, utilizing your welding expertise to ensure the highest quality and structural integrity. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety will be instrumental in meeting our production goals.

RESPONSIBILTIES

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements.
• Cut, shape, and assemble metal components using various tools and equipment, such as saws, grinders, shears, and presses.
• Measure and mark metal to ensure precise cuts and accurate assembly.
• Undertake material preparation and fit-up prior to welding.
• Weld metal components using MIG, TIG, or other welding processes as needed.
• Conduct quality inspections to verify conformance with specifications and make necessary adjustments.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety guidelines.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace to minimize safety hazards.
• Perform routine maintenance on fabrication and welding equipment to ensure functionality and safety.
• Report equipment malfunctions or damage for timely repairs.
• Monitor the quality of fabricated components and finished products, making necessary adjustments to maintain high standards.
• Identify and address any defects or issues in the fabrication process.
• Work collaboratively with other team members, including engineers, designers, and supervisors, to achieve project goals.
• Communicate effectively to resolve issues and ensure project alignment.
• Operate overhead cranes, forklifts and other lifting machinery.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in welding or metal fabrication preferred.
• Proven experience as a fabricator with welding skills or diploma in Welding/Fabrication.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong knowledge of welding techniques, equipment, and safety procedures.
• Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Welding certifications (e.g., AWS) a plus.
• CWB certification for FCAW/MCAW- flat and horizontal.
• Able to weld carbon steel and stainless steel (essential) and aluminum (desirable).
